The Beacon is giving away three copies of newly published book, Don’t Worry About the Robots: How to survive and thrive in the new world of work.
Co-written by the Eastern Bay’s David Glover and Dr Jo Cribb, from Wellington.
Glover says his book is an extensively revised edition of the book they originally published together in 2018, and aims to ease the anxiety surrounding the ever-changing world of technology and how it impacts the workplace.
“Since then, a lot has changed. In particular, Covid changed the way we worked with technology and AI is suddenly everywhere, so we have updated the book.”
The book, which has just been released, provides fresh insights into these changes and their implications for the workforce.
“It looks at the impact of new technology on the workforce from a global and a local point of view and which jobs are going to be lost and what you can do about it.”
The second half of the book features interviews with 12 prominent New Zealanders, including technologist “Nanogirl” Dr Michelle Dickinson, educational futurist Frances Valintine, and AI guru and lecturer Josh Vial.
